April's Swearing In Ceremony

On April 22, thirteen FCSL graduates were admitted to the Florida Bar in a ceremony with The Honorable Timothy J. Corrigan, United States District Judge, presiding.

Remarks were made by W. Braxton Gillam, IV President, Jacksonville Bar Association as well as Chidi Ogene, Acting Dean of Florida Coastal School of Law.  Michelle Barnett, President, Young Lawyers Section, Jacksonville Bar Association and Kathy Para, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and JBA Pro Bono Committee Chair were also introduced before Judge Corrigan administered the oath of attorney.

Dean Search Update

Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL) is following an American Bar Association (ABA) compliant search process in which candidates are vetted by faculty and staff. The Search Committee then makes recommendations to the Board of Directors which makes the final decision.

The selection process follows a typical dean search process as required by the ABA Standards. The ideal candidate for the dean position will provide direction that will enable Florida Coastal to further establish itself as a leader for legal education in the 21st century.
