On April 21 and 22, the Florida Coastal Alumni Association Board had their yearly retreat starting with a dinner on April 21. During the dinner, they heard from the Associate Dean of Academics Affairs, Jennifer Reiber. In light of recent news about Coastal Law's low bar passage rate from the most recent Florida bar exam, she discussed the school’s plans to address this including increasing admissions standards regarding LSAT scores.
On Saturday, April 22, they had their board retreat working session during which they received an update from Coastal Law President Dennis Stone regarding the school’s plan to move to a non-profit status.The hopes are to move to non-profit by the end of the year and the school also has plans to affiliate with a non-profit university in the coming years. Lastly, they heard from the Director of Marketing and Communications, Nikki Cassis, who is working on a branding plan to help showcase the school.
During the retreat, a theme was set for everyone on the Board to be ALL IN to help make the school the best it can be for all of our Florida Coastal community!
