With more than a decade of distinction and success reflected in our more than 6,000 alumni practicing law around the country and the world, we established the Coastal Law Foundation. Its purpose is to raise, manage, and invest funds for scholarships and educational programs to benefit the students of Florida Coastal School of Law and their community. This is accomplished through the generosity of alumni, friends, corporate, and Foundation partners. The Coastal Law Foundation is dedicated to furthering the opportunities for students to enter the legal profession and to pursue their passion for public service. To contact the Coastal Law Foundation please email Karen Eubanks at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 904-516-8749.
The gap in available legal services for low income families in our community is growing. At Florida Coastal School of Law, our in-house clinics and pro bono programs currently serve over 478 clients who could not otherwise afford representation. We host our Annual Citizenship Day where lawful permanent residents interested in becoming U.S. citizens are able to receive free legal help from attorneys with pursuing citizenship. Your tax deductible donation will help Coastal Law Clinics and Pro Bono programs provide these critical resources! Many thanks for your support!
Our students and faculty represent a diverse group of clients referred by government and non-profit organizations with services focused in family law, trusts and estates, asylum, citizenship, as well as seal and expunge. County and federal courts, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid (JALA), Three Rivers Legal Services, ARC Jacksonville, Catholic Charities, Hubbard House and World Relief are among the many who refer those unable to obtain services on their own.
The Immigrant and Human Rights Clinic provides the only pro bono representation of immigrant human trafficking victims in Northeast Florida. "We could not serve the victims of trafficking we serve without FCSL," says Michelle Clow, Reception and Placement Coordinator, World Relief. Unfortunately, many families must be turned away due to lack of resources. The Clinic operates almost solely on donated funds and countless student and Certified Legal Intern hours. The Foundation's goal for the Annual Fund is to provide support for these clinical programs that fill such a vital need in our community.
