Description:  The Christian Winicki Memorial Scholarship was created in loving memory of Christian Winicki ‘06 to support Florida Coastal law students with preference to military/veteran students or to those with a demonstrated background or interest in athletic endeavors.
During his time at Florida Coastal, Christian was the SBA treasurer and a member of the Mock Trial team. Following his graduation, Christian went on to practice law as an Assistant State Attorney and then owned his own law firm. In 2009, Christian was direct commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy Reserves. He was the first legacy graduate of the school as his mother, Debbie Winicki, graduated with the inaugural class of 1999.

Even greater than his professional accomplishments, however, were his personal achievements. Christian met his wife, Chelsea (Chelsea Russell Winicki ’06), on their first day of orientation at Florida Coastal. They dated throughout law school and were married in 2008. Together, they have two beautiful children, Kiely and Christian Jack “CJ”.

In October 2015, Christian passed away after a 2.5 year battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Christian is best remembered by those who knew him as being full of life and having an incredible sense of adventure. He was a friend to everyone and always had a kind word to offer.
