The Florida Coastal School of Law Sports Law Society is founded with respect to, and committed to the achievement of, the following goals:

I.          To provide students interested in careers in the Sports Law field with an opportunity to associate with others who share similar aspirations;

II.        To bring issues in Sports Law to the attention of all interested parties at the Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL);

III.       To sponsor special events – including, but not limited to, guest speaker appearances, seminars and panel discussions – at which dialogue offering expert knowledge and insight into the Sports Law field will be exchanged with the FCSL community;

IV.       To form a partnership with the community of Jacksonville and, as a group of capable and concerned student-citizens, offer our services through the encouragement and facilitation of community-oriented initiatives – including, but not limited to, activities that foster youth involvement in sports related activities and general public service;

V.       To sponsor field trips and tours of sports facilities for an up-close and first-hand look at behind-the-scenes operations (eg. Jaguars facility, Jacksonville Suns facility, Baracuda Hockey complex, World Golf Village, Orlando Magic Sports Complex and other sports related facilites);

VI.       To provide information regarding and encourage attendance at the Sports Lawyers Association annual conference as well as related seminars and events;

VII.     To provide information regarding and encourage attendance at the ABA Sports Law Society annual and regional conferences as well as related seminars and events;

VIII.    To offer fun-filled, exciting recreational gatherings and activities to all FCSL students and faculty interested in joining together to celebrate sports issues and events (eg. Sports movie nights, bowl-athons, tournaments, etc.); and

IX.       To foster interest in and heightened awareness of the role Sports related activities play in American history and popular culture.

X.        To nurture and encourage the professional goals of FCSL students interested in Sports Law careers through the establishment of networking opportunities with accomplished professionals in the field;

XI.       To start and organize a SLS Alumni Association at FCSL.
