School mourns loss of Coastal Law faculty member Donald Maciejewski

Donald Maximilian Maciejewski, 58, died on July 17th. A graduate of the University of Southern California, Professor Maciejewski taught Aviation Law, Products Liability Law, Trial Practice, and Taking and Defending Depositions, among other courses, since the early days of Florida Coastal School of Law’s existence. Prior to his law career with Zisser, Robison, Brown, Nowlis, Maciejewski, & Cabrey, P.A., he was an Army pilot and a retired Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Professor Maciejewski loved all things related to aviation, and his practice focused primarily on aviation, airplane and helicopter crash litigation, personal injury and complex product liability suits. Known as a strong advocate in the community for our school and our students, he was widely regarded by students, faculty and alumni alike as the embodiment of professionalism and personal humility in the practice of law and his relationship with the community. “His legacy will be long remembered by the hundreds of lawyers around the country who had the privilege of attending one of his classes. He will be greatly missed” said Vice Dean, Terri Davlantes.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra, and his funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at the same location.
