FCSL RANKINGS

The goal of the FCSL ranking system is to rank together all those students who are likely to graduate in the same academic year.

Beginning with the Fall 2005 semester, there will be three cohorts for full-time students:
F-T 1, F-T 2, and F-T 3, and four cohorts for part-time students: P-T 1, P-T 2, P-T 3, and P-T 4.

Description of Cohorts

F-T 1: Includes all full-time first-year students, regardless of the number of credits taken.

F-T 2: Includes all full-time students who are beyond their first academic year, but are not eligible to graduate in the upcoming year.

F-T 3: Includes any full-time student who will be eligible to graduate in the current academic year (i.e., Fall 2005, Spring 2006, or Summer 2006).

P-T 1: Includes all first-year part-time students, regardless of the number of credits taken. These students will not be ranked.

P-T 2: Includes all part-time students in their second academic year, regardless of the number of hours taken.

P-T 3: Includes all part-time students who are beyond their second academic year, regardless of the number of credits, and who are not eligible to graduate in the upcoming year.   (Note: It is possible that a part-time student could remain in this cohort for more than one academic year.)

P-T 4: Includes all part-time students who will be completing graduation requirements in the upcoming academic year (i.e., Fall 2005, Spring 2006, or Summer 2006).

Cohort Groupings for Ranking Purposes

The following cohorts will be ranked together:

Group 1: All F-T 1 and P-T 2 will be ranked together. Students will remain in this category for one academic year (i.e., Fall 2005, Spring 2006, or Summer 2006).

Group 2: All F-T 2 and P-T 3 will be ranked together. It is possible for a student to remain in this category for more than one academic year because a student will remain in this category until he or she is eligible to graduate in the upcoming academic year.

Group 3: All F-T 3 and P-T 4 will be ranked together. A student who was eligible to graduate but did not satisfy the graduation requirements will remain in this group until he or she satisfactorily completes the graduation requirements.
