Faculty Highlights - October 2014

Professor Kirsten Clement:  Was asked to serve as the co-chair of the Pro Bono Cooperation Committee of the Legal Writing Institute (LWI). 

Served on a committee with the LWI last year, which created, organized, and hosted a one-day conference entitled “Bringing Outside In: Social Justice Collaborations in the Legal Writing Curriculum.” This conference attracted speakers and attendees from both the legal writing law faculty as well as clinical faculty and practitioners in the field of social justice. Professor Clement also presented at this one-day conference, discussing the Coastal Law Public Interest Research Bureau. The Research Bureau provides free research and writing services to legal aid attorneys who have discrete research issues.

Moot Court Honor Board Summer 2014 invitations announced

The Florida Coastal School of Law's Moot Court Honor Board extended invitations to four students after their performances in the Moot Court Honor Board's Summer Internal Competition -- Rosanna Barsati, Gracie Holden, Emily Prestopnik and Michael Roscoe.

The Internal Competition, which consists of two graded oral argument rounds and a writing competition, is open only to first-year students and is the only avenue to joining Florida Coastal's No. 1 nationally-ranked advocacy program. The Moot Court Honor Board's current members and its alumni extend their congratulations.
