Student Bar Association honors Buddy Schulz with 2011 Ehrlich Award


The Florida Coastal School of Law Student Bar Association (SBA) will honor Holland & Knight partner George A. "Buddy" Schulz, Jr. with the SBA's 2011 Justice Raymond Ehrlich Award at a ceremony Feb. 4 at the Main Library Downtown.

The annual award, now in its fifth year, is presented to a local judge or attorney who embodies professionalism and humanitarianism and integrity in the Jacksonville community. Previous honorees include last year's recipient U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Gerald Tjoflat, Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince and attorney Wayne Hogan.

Post-Graduate Public Interest Employment Program Enters Fourth Year


Florida Coastal School of Law’s Post Graduate Public Interest Employment (PGPIE) program is preparing for its launch into a fourth year of service. Given the pressing need for quality legal services, the program is designed to assist public service agencies in filling essential gaps in representing the under-served, underrepresented, or those with limited resources. 

Coastal Law provides grants to public service organizations that employ its graduates in the program. Graduates are employees of the agency and eligible to participate in the program for up to five months. During this time, they represent clients and gain practical experience working with seasoned attorneys.
