Students taking intersession classes may request to include the cost of the intersession classes into the total cost of attendance for financial aid purposes. 

However most students are already receiving the maximum amount of federal loans during the regular semesters and would have to request additional funds in private loans or Grad PLUS loans.  

Example:

• Fall 08/Spring 09 fulltime cost of attendance
  (including living expenses) = $50,240
• Maximum federal loans = $20,500
• Maximum private loan or Grad PLUS = $29,740 

• Include 2 hour Fall 08 intersession class, Tuition = $2492
• Total tuition (Fall 08 intersession/Fall 08 regular/Spring 09) = $52,732
• Maximum federal loans = $20,500
• Maximum private loan or Grad PLUS = $32,232 

To include the intersession class into your cost of attendance, after registering for the class, notify the Financial Aid Office.
