Intersession Financial Aid
Students taking intersession classes may request to include the cost of the intersession classes into the total cost of attendance for financial aid purposes.
However most students are already receiving the maximum amount of federal loans during the regular semesters and would have to request additional funds in private loans or Grad PLUS loans.
Example:
- Fall 10/Spring 11 fulltime cost of attendance
(including living expenses) = $54,890 - Maximum federal stafford loans = $20,500
- Maximum Grad PLUS = $31,329
- Include 2 hour Fall 08 intersession class, Tuition = $2814
- Total tuition (Fall 10 intersession/Fall 10 regular/Spring 11) = $57,704
- Maximum federal stafford loans = $20,500
- Maximum Grad PLUS = $38,354
To include the intersession class into your cost of attendance, after registering for the class, notify the Financial Aid Office.
