Coastal Law Services for Military and Veteran Students

Coastal Law honors the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces during times of war and peace. The sacrifices that these service members and their families have made for the cause of liberty have earned the deep respect and gratitude of the school’s faculty and staff.

Coastal Law has made great strides in recent years to attract military and veteran students and to increase school services and opportunities for these deserving individuals. We strive to build a community that welcomes, supports, and rewards those who have served, as well as their families.

In addition to processing any benefits certified by the Veterans Administration, such as the various versions of the G.I. Bill, Coastal Law is one of only a few law schools in the nation to offer unlimited, 100% Tuition Matching through the Yellow Ribbon Program. This allows eligible students to attend law school at no cost to them, and often provides extra funding for housing and other necessities of life.

Coastal Law has also established designated Points of Contact for military and veteran students in virtually every department of the school, including Admissions, Financial Aid, and Career Services. In addition, several of our faculty with experience in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps assist students who wish to apply for JAG positions in the various military services.

Our faculty and curriculum offer many opportunities for military and veteran students to take courses of interest to those with military service. Students can directly assist the legal needs of other veterans in the local community through Coastal Law's Veterans Benefits Clinic. They also have a variety of other military-related courses from which to choose.

In an effort to build community and mutual support among military and veteran students, Coastal Law holds several social veteran events throughout the year, including luncheons where families are welcome to attend. The school has also set up a Veterans Mentoring Program to pair military and veteran students with faculty, alumni, and other students. One of our most active student groups on campus is the Military Law Society, which organizes events, such as an annual field trip to view a court-martial at nearby military installations.

If you qualify for the Yellow Ribbon program, then GI Bill Benefits and Yellow Ribbon contributions may cover 100% of your tuition. Contact us using the form below to learn more about this program.
