Visiting
Student / Study Abroad
Financial Aid awards must be based on the cost of attendance
for each semester. For you to receive financial aid
from Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL) while attending
another school as a visiting student, FCSL and the other
school must sign a consortium agreement outlining costs
and responsibilities of each school.
Once you have been approved by the academic dean to attend
as a visiting student you will need to come to the Financial
Aid Office to pick up a procedure form and information
sheet. For the Financial Aid Office to approve the study
abroad you will need to complete and return the information
sheet with the following information.
1. Name, phone number, fax number and email address
of the person in the Financial Aid Office that handles
consortium agreements at the school that you will be
visiting.
2. Name, address, phone number, email address, of the
person in the Finance (Bursar’s) Office that handles
payments for visiting students at the school that you
will be visiting.
3. Address for the Finance Office to mail refund check.
Once we have received the above information , we will
fax to the other school, a consortium agreement. It
is your responsibility to see that the school you are
visiting completes and returns the consortium agreement.
Once FCSL receives the consortium agreement we will
make an award based on the information from the other
school and mail you an award notice to sign and return.
Funds can not be disbursed to FCSL from your lender
until 10 days before the beginning of the study abroad
classes as indicated on the consortium agreement from
the visiting school.
There are no exceptions to this regulation. Any
expenses before that time must be met by the student’s
resources.
When the funds arrive the FCSL Finance Office will
contact your visiting institution to verify enrollment
and to ascertain the amount of tuition to be sent directly
to the school. Any remaining funds will be mailed to
the address that you provided on the information sheet.
