Steps for Applying for Financial Aid
- 1. Complete and submit the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov
. Remember to enter the school code for Florida Coastal School
of Law G33743.
- 2. Receive a copy of your Student Aid Report
(SAR)
- After you have paid your seat deposit to the Office of Admissions and submitted your FAFSA you will receive a packet from the Financial Aid Office.
- 3. If you are chosen for verification (refer
to your SAR) you will be sent a Verification Worksheet to complete
and return to the Financial Aid Office, along with a signed copy
of your tax return.
- 4. Complete and return the Florida Coastal
School of Law financial aid application and student certification.
- 5. Once we have received the above items we
will mail to you an award notice which will include instructions
on how to complete your on line promissory note.
- 6. After receiving your award notice, first
time FCSL students need to go to www.fcsl.edu , click on Financial
Aid, to electronically sign a promissory note.
- 7. First time FCSL students must also complete
on line Entrance Counseling. Go to www.fcsl.edu , click on Financial
Aid, click on Entrance Counseling and follow the directions.
- 8. Once you have completed the above steps,
the Financial Aid office will transmit your loan for guarantee
and you will receive a Notice of Guarantee from the guarantee
agency.
- 9. Your funds will be sent to the Finance Office.
They will apply your funds to your account and any remaining funds
after all charges are paid will be issued to you approximately
the second week of class. Questions concerning refunds should
be directed to the Finance Office. (904) 680-7723.
- 10. Upon graduating, leaving school for any
reason, or enrolling less than half time, federal regulations
require you to complete Exit Counseling. For Exit Counseling go
to Entrance/Exit
Counseling.
- 11. You must reapply for Financial Aid each
year.
