Students taking intersession classes may request to include the cost of the intersession classes into the total cost of attendance for financial aid purposes.

However most students are already receiving the maximum amount of federal loans during the regular semesters and would have to request additional funds in private loans or Grad PLUS loans.

Example:

  • Fall 2016 Full-Time Cost of Attendance
    (including living expenses) = $34,595
  • Maximum Federal Direct Stafford Loans = $10,250
  • Maximum Grad PLUS = $24,345
  • Include 2 hour Fall 2016 intersession class, Tuition = $3,698
  • Total Cost of Attendance (Fall 2016 intersession + Fall 2016 regular) = $38,293
  • Maximum Federal Direct Stafford Loans = $10,250
  • Maximum Grad PLUS = $28,043

To include the intersession class into your cost of attendance, after registering for the class, notify the Financial Aid Office.
