specializing in corporate, securities, and tax law. Professional
psychotherapist. For the past decade, has been researching
and writing on the psychology of lawyers, lawyer personality,
lawyer distress and dissatisfaction, the legal profession,
professionalism, and ethical decisionmaking by lawyers. Immediate
past chair of the Section on Law and Mental Disability of
the Association of American Law Schools and current Chair
of the Legal Education Committee of the International Alliance
of Holistic Lawyers. Current research focuses on the new "comprehensive
law" movement, which promises a psychologically better
way of resolving legal matters. This movement encompasses
several new developments including therapeutic jurisprudence,
preventive law, restorative justice, collaborative law, creative
problemsolving, holistic justice, procedural justice, transformative
mediation, drug treatment courts, and contemplative practice. |
