Writing Center

Writing Center

Welcome to the Writing Center Webpage. We hope you find what you are looking for and get the help you need. For any questions, consultations or suggestions, please feel free to contact Rosan Larizza, writing specialist, at rlarizza@fcsl.edu. The center itself is located in room 549. To make an appointment with Ms. Larizza feel free to drop by area 546 or contact Carrie Shoop, Administrative Assistant, at cshoop@fcsl.edu.

  • All appointments with the Writing Specialist should be made 24 hours or more before the material being reviewed is due.
  • When you come to your appointment, please:
    • Print out the material you would like to review with the Writing Specialist
    • Bring in two copies to facilitate mutual revision of the work
    • Format the material in 12 point font and double spaced for the revision
    • Bring a pen or pencil and paper so you can take notes
    • If you can’t make the appointment please cancel as soon as possible so the time slot can be opened to other students

Please Note:
Any and all editing and correction suggestions made in the Writing Center by the Writing Specialist or any teaching assistant working there are just that, suggestions. Students should in no way consider that these suggestions replace or override their professor’s criteria, and if they are in doubt as to the correctness or appropriateness of a suggested correction or edit, they should consult their professor or adhere to their own criteria previous to their visit to the Writing Center.

ALWR Sample Papers

The sample papers contained in this notebook and/or database serve as examples of quality ALWR papers. These models are intended to aid students in organizing and structuring an ALWR paper. As with any ALWR submission, these sample papers were subject to further review and additional editorial comments from faculty members for improvement. To protect student privacy, those faculty comments and suggestions are not included here. Different instructors may have additional requirements for their classes so please consult your course syllabus and instructor for further guidance.
